1. Pre-processing
Sandblasting can remove all dirt such as rust on the surface of the workpiece, and establish a very important basic pattern (usually so-called rough surface) on the surface of the workpiece, and can achieve different degrees of roughness by exchanging abrasives of different particle sizes. It can greatly improve the bonding force between the workpiece and paint and plating. Or make the bonding parts more firm and better in quality.
2. Cleaning and polishing
Sand blasting can clean all the dirt (such as oxide scale, oil and other residues) on the surface of castings and forgings and the workpiece after heat treatment, and polish the surface of the workpiece to improve the smoothness of the workpiece, and play a role in beautifying the workpiece.
Sandblasting can make the workpiece reveal a uniform and consistent metal color, make the appearance of the workpiece more beautiful, and achieve the effect of beautification and decoration.
3. Clean up and beautify
Sandblasting can clean the tiny burrs on the surface of the workpiece, make the surface of the workpiece more flat, eliminate the harm of burrs, and improve the grade of the workpiece. And sandblasting can make small rounded corners at the junction of the workpiece surface, making the workpiece more beautiful and more precise.
4. Improve performance
After the mechanical parts are sandblasted, a uniform and fine uneven surface (basic pattern) can be generated on the surface of the parts, so that the lubricating oil can be stored, thereby improving the lubricating conditions, reducing noise and improving the service life of the machine.
5. Lighting effect
1) Polish the surface of various workpieces to make the workpiece surface more beautiful.
2) Make the workpiece smooth and non-reflective.
For some special-purpose workpieces, sandblasting can achieve different reflections or matts at will. Such as stainless steel workpiece, wooden furniture surface matt, frosted glass surface pattern, and cloth surface texture processing.
6. Surface strengthening
By hitting the surface of the workpiece with sand shot, the stress is relieved and the surface strength of the workpiece is increased, such as the surface treatment of workpieces such as springs, machining tools and aircraft blades.
